Keeping fit and active during this time is vital for mother and baby to boost health and positivity, exercise releases endorphins which are passed on to your baby in the womb. It can strengthen back and pelvic muscles in preparation for birth and help to alleviate those aches and pains often associated with later stages of pregnancy. As well as the benefits to your physical and mental health, it is claimed that exercising during pregnancy can reduce some of the symptoms and side effects of pregnancy including tiredness and nausea.
Water is one of the best places to exercise when pregnant as the water helps to support your growing bump and the feeling of weightlessness can be a blessing in the later stages.
Accredited by the birthlight organisation and the royal college of midwives, our Aquanatal yoga classes offer a gentle and easily accessible way to exercise using classic yoga moves that have been specifically adapated for pregnant women in water to help you relax and prepare for the birth of your baby.
Classes are kept small with a max of 6 in a class and take place in our private warm water pool in the north laine in central Brighton.
